The final blog in this holistic approach to addressing our bodily issues with Jordan of Inner Chi focuses on our more superficial attitude. The first two blogs ‘Acupuncture’ and ‘Cupping’ explored how to heal our bodies of deteriorating bodily issues – from digestion and blood flow issues to fixing muscle imbalances.
I see men and women augmenting their bodies on a skin-deep level to change their appearances. From what I have learned from my years in the fitness industry as well as trying to understand how physical and emotional aspects affect it, watching and addressing what you put in your body and your emotional experiences have major effects. However, these issues can be addressed via a medical practitioner.
Now, no matter how well you treat the temple that is your body, time will catch up to all of us and take its course of action. Skin will lose its elasticity and digestive tracks won’t be able to indulge in countless helpings of pizza and Ben and Jerry’s regularly anymore.
Personally, I haven’t started thinking I need help in the skin realm, but I have noticed other aging issues at the spry age of 33. So, why not learn about the helpful measures I can get now, and perhaps be pro-active for the future.
I wanted to learn about the more organic version of facial rejuvenation through acupuncture. The trend of using Botox and other chemical injections into the muscles to temporarily paralyze them has always made my skin crawl.
The process of facial acupuncture was very short and painless, in fact, it was somewhat therapeutic and relaxing.
- Collagen stimulation
- Brightened skin tone
- Reduced jaw tension
- Reduction of anxiety
- Reduction of overall tension
- Treating acne
The needle points gave no discomfort when inserted, which were anywhere between 8-12 needles at the end of the process. After our short session was done, I also felt no discomfort where the insertion points were.
I will 100% keep this treatment for aging in my mind as the years pass by and the aging process starts taking its toll on me.
